Book Ghostwriting: What's Included, Formats and Publishing
Updated Nov 6, 2026
Studio book ghostwriting gives you a finished, print-ready non-fiction book with your name on the cover, written in your voice from a strategy session. Writing, editing, layout and cover design are included, and you get print-ready, EPUB and Kindle files, 3D mockups, source files and an ownership license in about 30 days. Book projects start at $5,000 and typically run $5,000 to $15,000.
What's included
- A strategy session that captures your methodology, stories and phrasing
- Research and writing led by senior editors, with AI-assisted refinement passes on every chapter
- A draft to review halfway, so the book stays yours
- One additional review round after delivery
- Editing, interior layout and cover design
- Print-ready files, EPUB and Kindle versions
- 3D mockups for your marketing
- Source files
- An ownership license and signed ownership document. You keep 100% of royalties
What kind of books
Non-fiction for experts: business books, methodology books, how-to guides and lead magnet books, for coaches, consultants, agency owners and founders.
What you need to provide
Time for a strategy session, plus any material you already have: slide decks, recorded talks, client notes, blog posts or an old draft. If you have nothing written yet, the strategy session is enough to start. You don't write anything yourself.
Publishing and formats
Your files are ready to publish digitally and in print. You can sell the book:
- On Amazon KDP, IngramSpark and other major platforms and marketplaces
- On your own website, funnels and storefronts
- As printed copies to send to prospects or hand out at events
Because you own the book outright, you keep everything it earns. For the Amazon side, see Selling on Amazon KDP. If you're weighing publishing routes, read Hybrid publishing vs self-publishing.
How a book works for your business
- Before the sales call. Send it to prospects ahead of the call so it answers objections before you hear them.
- Around your offer. A lead magnet for your site and ads, a leave-behind at talks and events, or a bonus that lifts your main offer.
- For your reputation. A credential for podcast and speaking invitations, and proof of expertise in every proposal.
Add-ons
Your book can be the centre of a larger system. Each is optional: an audiobook (your book, professionally narrated), an online academy, explainer videos, a website and funnel, an AI assistant that answers clients with your method, and lead magnets.
Examples
- Jeff Yelton used five authority books to start 150+ conversations with PE-backed companies.
- Olga Kiendler used one authority book to name three frameworks and register Decision DNA® as a trademark.
