How Long Does a Studio Book Take?
Updated Nov 6, 2026
A Studio book takes about 30 days. Writing and design take 7 business days once we've planned the book together, with a draft for you to review halfway through. Including planning, your review and the final files, most books launch within 30 days. Traditional ghostwriting usually takes around 6 months.
The book timeline
| Stage | What happens | Your part |
|---|---|---|
| Plan | We define the concept, audience and goals with you, and capture your expertise in a strategy session | The session, plus any material you already have |
| Create (7 business days) | Research, writing, AI refinement, editing, layout and cover design | Review the draft halfway |
| Review | One additional review round after we send you the book | Flag anything you want changed |
| Launch | Print-ready, EPUB and Kindle files, 3D mockups, source files and ownership license | Publish, sell or give it away |
Other Studio timelines
| Asset | Typical timeline |
|---|---|
| First asset of any kind | 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff |
| Lead magnet | Most are live in 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the format |
| Online course or academy | Weeks, not quarters. You get a launch date on the first call |
| Website | Weeks, not months. You get a timeline on the first call |
| Explainer videos | Your first video for review within the first weeks, then the series on a set schedule |
| App partnership | A first version in weeks, then improved with your first users |
Bigger systems, like an academy with a full funnel, take longer. You get a clear timeline on the strategy call.
How it can be this fast
- One strategy session instead of months of interviews. We capture your methodology, stories and phrasing up front.
- Work in parallel. Once the plan is set, writers, designers and strategists work at the same time.
- A production system refined across 300+ books and other assets. Senior editors lead, and AI helps with research and refinement passes.
The short timeline comes from the process, not from cutting corners. Every chapter is edited by people and reviewed by you.
What keeps it on schedule
The parts that depend on you are the planning session and your reviews. Quick feedback on the halfway draft keeps the book on track.
