Pop-up Blocker Troubleshooting

Having trouble downloading files? Pop-up blockers are the #1 cause of download issues. Here's how to fix it.

The Problem

When you click download, your browser may:

  • Block the download window from opening
  • Show no response when clicking
  • Display a brief flash then nothing
  • Give a "pop-up blocked" notification

Quick Fix (All Browsers)

Step 1: Look for the Block Notification

Most browsers show a small icon or notification when they block something:

  • Chrome: Small icon in the address bar (right side)
  • Firefox: Yellow bar at top of page
  • Safari: Notification in Smart Search field
  • Edge: Icon in address bar

Step 2: Allow Pop-ups for Entrepedia

Click the notification/icon and select:

  • "Always allow pop-ups from this site"
  • "Allow pop-ups for app.entrepedia.co"

Step 3: Try Downloading Again

After allowing pop-ups, click the download button again.

Browser-Specific Instructions

Google Chrome

Method 1: Quick Allow

  1. Click the download button
  2. Look for blocked pop-up icon (top right of address bar)
  3. Click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from app.entrepedia.co"
  4. Click "Done"
  5. Try downloading again

Method 2: Settings

  1. Click three dots menu (⋮) → Settings
  2. Privacy and security → Site settings
  3. Pop-ups and redirects
  4. Under "Allowed to send pop-ups," click "Add"
  5. Enter: app.entrepedia.co
  6. Click "Add"

Mozilla Firefox

Method 1: Quick Allow

  1. Click download button
  2. Look for yellow info bar at top
  3. Click "Options" → "Allow pop-ups for app.entrepedia.co"

Method 2: Settings

  1. Click menu (☰) → Settings
  2. Privacy & Security
  3. Scroll to "Permissions"
  4. Click "Exceptions" next to "Block pop-up windows"
  5. Enter: https://app.entrepedia.co
  6. Click "Allow" then "Save Changes"

Safari (Mac)

Method 1: Quick Allow

  1. When pop-up is blocked, click Smart Search field
  2. Look for "Pop-up Window Blocked" message
  3. Click and allow the pop-up

Method 2: Settings

  1. Safari menu → Settings (or Preferences)
  2. Websites tab
  3. Pop-up Windows (left sidebar)
  4. Find app.entrepedia.co
  5. Set to "Allow"

Microsoft Edge

Method 1: Quick Allow

  1. Click download button
  2. Look for pop-up blocked notification
  3. Click "Always allow" for this site

Method 2: Settings

  1. Click three dots (⋯) → Settings
  2. Cookies and site permissions
  3. Pop-ups and redirects
  4. Under "Allow," click "Add"
  5. Enter: app.entrepedia.co

Brave Browser

  1. Click the Brave Shields icon (lion) in address bar
  2. Click "Advanced controls"
  3. Find "Block pop-ups" and turn it OFF for this site
  4. Or add app.entrepedia.co to allowed sites in settings

Browser Extensions That May Block Downloads

Some extensions can interfere with downloads:

Common Culprits

  • AdBlock / AdBlock Plus - May block download scripts
  • uBlock Origin - Can interfere with file delivery
  • Privacy Badger - Sometimes blocks legitimate pop-ups
  • Ghostery - May affect download functionality

How to Temporarily Disable

  1. Click the extension icon in your browser
  2. Look for "Pause" or "Disable on this site"
  3. Refresh the page
  4. Try downloading again
  5. Re-enable after download completes

Whitelisting Entrepedia

Most ad blockers let you whitelist sites:

  1. Click the extension icon
  2. Find "Don't run on this page" or "Whitelist"
  3. Add app.entrepedia.co
  4. Refresh and try again

Mobile Download Issues

iPhone/iPad (Safari)

  1. Go to Settings → Safari
  2. Scroll to "General"
  3. Turn OFF "Block Pop-ups"
  4. Try downloading again in Safari

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Tap three dots → Settings
  3. Site settings → Pop-ups and redirects
  4. Toggle to allow (or add exception)

Still Having Issues?

Try These Steps

  1. Clear browser cache

    • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Cmd+Shift+Delete on Mac)
    • Select "Cached images and files"
    • Clear data and refresh
  2. Try a different browser

    • If Chrome doesn't work, try Firefox
    • Helps isolate the issue
  3. Disable all extensions temporarily

    • Open incognito/private window
    • Extensions are disabled by default
    • Try downloading there
  4. Check your internet connection

    • Slow connections can timeout
    • Try on a different network if possible
