Design Tips for Great Covers

Typography

  • Title: Large, bold, easy to read
  • Subtitle: Smaller, supporting text
  • Author name: Subtle but visible
  • Limit fonts: Use 1-2 font families maximum

Color

  • Use 2-3 main colors
  • Ensure contrast (text must be readable)
  • Consider your brand colors
  • Dark backgrounds with light text work well

Layout

  • Keep title in the top third
  • Leave breathing room (don't overcrowd)
  • Center-align for classic look
  • Left-align for modern feel

Readability

  • Test at thumbnail size
  • Title should be readable when small
  • Avoid thin fonts or low contrast
